TheĀ Blood Of Mannoroth. The vile fluid that ran through the veins of the Destructor. The Fell was used to corrupt the Orcish race and bind them to the will of Kil’jaeden. The Mannoroth Bass Distortion Pedal shall too corrupt your bass tone into a brutal assault. Just like the Orcs when battling the forces of the Alliance!

I am a huge World of Wacraft fan. When I did the prototypes of the BOM (C-Proto) I didn’t really have a name for it. I just thought green splatter on a white enclosure looked cool. My good friend Shawn from Audiostorm said that it looked like Orc blood. I then connected that with the Blood Of Mannoroth and then this bass distortion pedals name was born.

The Pedal Itself.

The BOM is a beautiful bass distortion pedal. It can clean up a little on the dirt but it has bite which makes it great for a modern metal bass tone. It uses a CMOS chip for the gain stages with an active 3 band EQ and mid frequency toggle. This allows for many styles and tones of genres. Crank the bass and gain for some of the heaviest sludgy bass tones, back them off for classic rock, crank the mids and lower the gain for clank city.

But now this is the interesting bit. The EQ is pre gain! This give the tone shaping before any distortion. I think it makes the pedal really shine. Another advantage of this configuration is with the gain fully cranked the floor noise is still fairly low.

The BOM will be available in a few different finishes including a NightElf in Purple for the ‘Alliance’ and a green Orc ‘Horde’ version on the small box and the full artwork on the larger box. Larger box? I hear you cry. Yup. So this one has a few extras including a DI out, bass frequency toggle, bright switch, ground lift and a clean blend. Oh yes. We feel it doesn’t ‘need’ a clean blend but some folk wont touch a bass pedal with out one, so we added it here.

The Mannoroth has been road tested by some awesome people. Andy Gilmore from Raging Speedhorn and Hectares. Naomi Mac, who also used it on the new Empire State Bastard album for a few songs. Dan Higgins (my most awesomest dude) and Joe Brampton from the Guitar Nerds! The feedback has been awesome and a few tweaks have been made so I hope you enjoy the pedal as much as I do!

These are going to be limited at first, 4 Elf, 4 Orc and 2 DI versions and I will see how they go before deciding on making more because they do take quite a bit of time to build.
