BlackIce V2 – The Second Coming

So the BlackIce and IceDrive were certainly a pedal that gave me a lot of traction and the motivation to push forward with Goliath. I have some very exciting projects coming up that are based on the BlackIce but for the original pedal I had to put it on hold.

Switch pop. This has kept me awake on some nights. Just trying to work out why it is happening! Everything in the circuit is there to help prevent it. But it still happens! What I have found though is it lessens significantly when not using the black foot switches. So what does this mean? Well it means that the BlackIce will be getting a facelift. Potentially if the next round of new PCBs (I think this is batch 5) pop with the black switches and don’t with silver ones, then the BlackIce will ship again with silver ones.

Scott over at GojiraFX is sending me a Gorva stomp switch to test and if that works then we are onto a re-release of this awesome bass drive!

Hopefully we have it nailed and also the GPRS standards in place very soon so we can ship out to the EU again with the best bass overdrive on the market!
